“Friends at Work” is a European voluntary project, funded by the European Solidarity Corps, that aims to carry out activities to foster the inclusion and equality of people with intellectual disabilities. The project intends to fight discrimination not only in the professional area, but also outside of it.
Therefore, our two volunteers from Spain and Germany will work together with local community to support the inclusion of disadvantaged people in society. The volunteer’s work consists on supporting local people with disabilities and organizing social events aimed to help them to achieve greater self-confidence and independence.
The project is undertaken since September 2020 and our volunteers are already collaborating with different local organizations to support disabled people in Trani. By taking part in formative activities as well as leisure initiatives, the volunteers are taking an active role in promoting social inclusion and equality.
